About Hole.io

Hole.io is a two-minute arena game where you play as a hole in the ground. You start small enough to swallow a traffic cone and finish, if the round goes well, large enough to drop an entire office block into the pavement. Everything you eat makes the hole wider, and a wider hole eats faster.

The twist is that the other holes on the map are doing exactly the same thing, and a bigger hole can swallow a smaller one whole. That turns the map into a constant judgement call: farm the quiet residential streets where the scoring is slow but safe, or push into the downtown blocks where the big points are and a rival could be one size larger than you.

Rounds are short, the map resets fast, and nothing needs to be installed – it runs directly in this page.

Controls

  • Mouse – move the pointer and the hole follows it
  • WASD or arrow keys – steer with the keyboard instead
  • Touch and drag – drag anywhere on the screen on a phone or tablet

How to play

  1. Pick a game mode and wait for the short countdown – every player starts at the same size.
  2. Swallow the smallest objects first: cones, benches, bins and parked scooters all widen the hole quickly at the start.
  3. Move up to cars, trees and street lights as soon as they stop bouncing off the rim – if an object refuses to fall in, you are not big enough for it yet.
  4. Watch the size number next to each rival on the leaderboard. Anything smaller than you is food; anything larger is a threat.
  5. Spend the last thirty seconds on buildings. A single tower is worth more than a street of parked cars.
  6. Survive to the timer and the largest hole on the board takes the round.

Tips that actually help

  • Corners and dead ends are traps. Keep an escape route open whenever a larger hole is on your side of the map.
  • Buildings collapse in stages, so parking under one and waiting is often faster than chasing scattered street objects.
  • Swallowing a rival hole transfers its mass to you – a well-timed ambush is worth more than a minute of clean farming.
  • Early game, ignore the big landmarks entirely. Rim-bouncing off an object you cannot eat wastes the seconds that decide the round.
  • In solo mode the clock is the only opponent, so route the map in a loop instead of doubling back.

FAQ

Is Hole.io free to play here?

Yes – the game loads in this page, with no download, install or account.

Can I play Hole.io on mobile?

Yes. Drag anywhere on the screen to steer; the touch controls are the same game as the desktop version.

How long is a round?

Two minutes in the standard mode, which is why the last thirty seconds on the biggest buildings usually decide the leaderboard.

Why can’t I swallow some objects?

Every object has a size threshold. If it bounces off the rim instead of falling in, eat smaller things until the hole is wide enough.
